Can you believe that it's December... already... wasn't it last Christmas like only a few weeks ago?? Feels that way for me! So much has happened in this last year.
I was in Newcastle this time last year learning about a new role that I only had for 6 months (bastards!) Then I temped and now I work for myself.. It's going really well. Been in Hospital twice... Had two lots of surgery... Have three yucky scars and a container full of stones to show for it. Lost 15 kg... Put 20 kg back on! Stu turned 30... I turned 23... We had two housemates, kicked them out and then took another one in. All of inside has been painted... minus a few window sills that were my job that I got jack of! We've cycled two dogs through the house... (Cause Stu wouldn't let me keep one of them and the other one found a new home quicker than expected) We've ripped out the front yard, turfed and fenced it. I have even managed to grow Strawberries, Tomato's and a Zucchini is on it's way!!!! I never thought I'd be a green thumb! We have lots of exciting things for kids but don't have any of our own to play on it! I have two car seats in the car... and get strange looks from people when I get out and don't pull any kids out with me! We've been skint, and had money in the bank... purchased a new car and got our 'shitbox' fixed so that it isn't one anymore. Stu's changed councils too.. and is starting to think that Moreton Bay is heading in the same direction as Caloundra was 18 months ago. I've told him to get his OHS ticket, Trainer & Assessor Quals and to go private.. He can earn big bucks and we can finally get ahead financially! That said.. in working out the budget for 2009 based on this years earnings we are still managing to save $7k after installing Reverse Cycle Air Con in the bedroom, get the Terrano road worthy, Putting a new back patio up and going on a weeks holiday at Nambucca in September!
If things stay the way they are at the moment we'll be able to have a pool installed in the back yard by the end of 2010 which will be great! (Although the one I want is $24000... I think I'll be scaling it back! IT HAS A SPA WITH IT!!!!!)
Now that I have discussed the future.. lets take a step back!
2 weekends ago we were in Nambucca. I soooo love that place. The weather was just amazing. I even went swimming in the lake, out to the pontoon... freaked me out a little cause there were heaps of bream in the lake... and they were around my feet!!! Megan and I rescued a couple of youngsters who had gotten out to the Lagoon, but got freaked out by the fish and were stuck there! Dinner at the Pub was yummy... LAMB! The drive there and back LOOONG! That's why we are going there for a week next year. We are also staying in one of the big Villa's on the lake.. they have a spa so it'll be relaxing. We are going with my parents, Damian & Jem, Soni & Rod(in their new caravan) and possibly Pen & Ben. Will be a nice family holiday...
This weekend just passed it was AJ's 10th Birthday so we went to Mum & Dad's for the day. We also went to Caloundra on Friday night to take Bundy to the beach, and Bowling at Logan on Saturday night for a mates birthday... Was a busy one! Explains why Stu fell asleep at 6.30 last night and didn't wake up until 6.30 this morning! Oh - except for an 11pm freakout - 'is the house locked up, where's bundy'... 'it's all done honey... go back to sleep'.... 'SNOOOORRREEEE'
We are heading up to Caloundra again tomorrow for a play group with the Scheme. Also having a picnic at Happy Valley before coming home. Too far to take the kids just for a couple of hours! I'm going to have Thai from Kings Beach for Lunch and Cold Rock for dessert on the way home!
Stu's working over Christmas/New Year so I will be too... well... I'll be available for the kids to come - if they choose not to... their issue/my holiday!! Cause they still have to pay! It's nice to have paid day's off occasionally... they don't come around often enough though!
Hope everything else is going well for all... Looking forward to catching up with you all over Christmas!
