Melbourne Weekend

We were the guests this last weekend at Kylie and Michaels in Melbourne...

Given that Michael had turned 30 during the week and we hadn't yet met Oliver - we thought - what the hell!! (that and we wanted to go down!!!)

We had a lovely lunch at an Italian Cafe on Saturday and then went down to St Kilda where Kylie and the boys ate cake.... HUGE cake - while I had a foot massage a few doors up.. was very nice and contained NOOOO calories (can't eat it anyway!)

The ride home was rather eventful and STINKY.... Kylie was wondering why Oliver wouldn't settle... and then... kaboom!!! Someone had curried milk! It was bath time! He was much much happier afterwood..

On Sunday we had some cuddles in the morning.. where Stu had his fears removed cause all Oliver did was laugh at him and play fisty cuffs!

We all wanted to have a look at the Vicky Markets so we had a stroll around there... Kylie and I headed back to the house after Oliver had a feed and just chilled out while the boys did a bit of exploring around Melbourne.

We got our gear together and went to the Airport....

It was a really lovely weekend!! Photo's

Working Bee...!

Over the past week or so we have been taking doors off, painting them and putting them back in with new handles... they look very schmick.. It's amazing how small a thing can make such a big difference!! Anywho... The rain last week slowed the progress down so this weekend has enabled us to get all bar one done.. (Front door and back door excluded... they are a weekends work each on their own with the years of paint we need to strip from them!!)

We also needed to build a small pergola out from the back shed in preparation for it to be occupied again...

We enlisted the assistance of Rod & Soni to help out...

I washed & cleaned the kitchen, bathroom & toilet... Stu sawed, hammered and got high on the smell of apoxy resin, Rod drilled & measured, Soni shortened some curtains for me!! I cooked... The pergola wasn't able to be finished so Stu has some work to do throughout the week... We love having an overgrown garden, but at dusk when the mozzies want to come out and play.. it's unbearable!! They had to stop!

Oh.. and I tried to convince Rod to leave MBF!! (can't help it.. need to build my skills!!)

I am now going to go to bed...

Feeling ill from dinner (I had chicken & vege's, not just vege's... oops!!)

NOT looking forward to the next week at work...

Jess's Medical Issues

It was about a month ago now that we figured out that I have to have my gall bladder removed. I have gallstones and according to the doctor - with my results - I have a very very bad case of them... Pfft... I feel fine!! (not!)

We'd had a relitavely quiet weekend at home. The boys were doing garden work and I was just pottering around inside... Had the air con on as I wasn't feeling flash hot.. I was getting home made pizza's ready for dinner for all.. I sat down, ate one piece of mine... drank a bottle of water and then thought I was going to throw up my stomach lining... I had just thought that maybe it was something i'd put on my Pizza that didn't agree with me so I had a cool bath and went to bed... (I didn't end up puking!)

Still felt like crap the next day.. really weird cramping things going on. Couldn't eat all day.. I just rested on the couch all day and watched TV. Thought I was hungry and made a shepherd pie... I had one mouth full.. and had the same issues as the night before.. only 10 times worse... Went and lay in the bath (and fell asleep!!) then went to bed.. Didn't eat the next day - but still felt like crap.. Went to the Dr on Tuesday and the whirlwind began...

I imagine that the pain I was feeling was a little like labour... It was around the time friends of ours were to have a baby... and I thought maybe I was just having sympathy labour pains or something.. but no... they hadn't popped yet!! For me.. it was like the worse period pain I have ever had x 10 + 2...

The Dr sent me for a CT scan of my tum as he thought it may have been Kidney stones... Went back with my results the next night and nope.. nothing in the Kidney... but.. in your gallbladder!! I had told them some of my other symptoms which were itchiness (ALL OVER!!!) and general pain, they then sent me for a blood test and a Ultrasound... (Sitting at $150 out of pocket so far!!) The ultrasound showed them what they were looking for... referral to a specialist... (more money... up to $210) he says can't operate.. have to stick to a strict diet with NO fat for at least 6 weeks... go have a blood test for me and come back in 2 weeks.... He says I can eat chicken.. but I physically can't.. tried that tonight for the first time in ages.. and... no.. not again...

Got the blood test and went back to see him (more money for both $300 now..) He said that my Liver is having trouble coping (as the results clearly show... 200% over what it should be) but I still can't operate.. keep on the diet and come back in another three weeks.. oh.. and go for another Ultrasound and blood test in 2 weeks... (will be another $180 when that's done)

Not to mention $500 excess for when I do eventually get to have the surgery... Anaesthetic bills, any additional surgery costs, time of work issues...

If I am a dollar short of the $1500 threshold for the Medicare thing for tax I am going to scream!!

For everyones pleasure.... What I can eat without issues:

Bread (no butter) & Honey
Vege's vege's and vege's (don't like salads...)
Porridge with Raw Sugar (no milk...)
Rice

- That's about it!

Lost 10 kg so far though!!!

This sucks!
