Jess's Medical Issues

It was about a month ago now that we figured out that I have to have my gall bladder removed. I have gallstones and according to the doctor - with my results - I have a very very bad case of them... Pfft... I feel fine!! (not!)

We'd had a relitavely quiet weekend at home. The boys were doing garden work and I was just pottering around inside... Had the air con on as I wasn't feeling flash hot.. I was getting home made pizza's ready for dinner for all.. I sat down, ate one piece of mine... drank a bottle of water and then thought I was going to throw up my stomach lining... I had just thought that maybe it was something i'd put on my Pizza that didn't agree with me so I had a cool bath and went to bed... (I didn't end up puking!)

Still felt like crap the next day.. really weird cramping things going on. Couldn't eat all day.. I just rested on the couch all day and watched TV. Thought I was hungry and made a shepherd pie... I had one mouth full.. and had the same issues as the night before.. only 10 times worse... Went and lay in the bath (and fell asleep!!) then went to bed.. Didn't eat the next day - but still felt like crap.. Went to the Dr on Tuesday and the whirlwind began...

I imagine that the pain I was feeling was a little like labour... It was around the time friends of ours were to have a baby... and I thought maybe I was just having sympathy labour pains or something.. but no... they hadn't popped yet!! For me.. it was like the worse period pain I have ever had x 10 + 2...

The Dr sent me for a CT scan of my tum as he thought it may have been Kidney stones... Went back with my results the next night and nope.. nothing in the Kidney... but.. in your gallbladder!! I had told them some of my other symptoms which were itchiness (ALL OVER!!!) and general pain, they then sent me for a blood test and a Ultrasound... (Sitting at $150 out of pocket so far!!) The ultrasound showed them what they were looking for... referral to a specialist... (more money... up to $210) he says can't operate.. have to stick to a strict diet with NO fat for at least 6 weeks... go have a blood test for me and come back in 2 weeks.... He says I can eat chicken.. but I physically can't.. tried that tonight for the first time in ages.. and... no.. not again...

Got the blood test and went back to see him (more money for both $300 now..) He said that my Liver is having trouble coping (as the results clearly show... 200% over what it should be) but I still can't operate.. keep on the diet and come back in another three weeks.. oh.. and go for another Ultrasound and blood test in 2 weeks... (will be another $180 when that's done)

Not to mention $500 excess for when I do eventually get to have the surgery... Anaesthetic bills, any additional surgery costs, time of work issues...

If I am a dollar short of the $1500 threshold for the Medicare thing for tax I am going to scream!!

For everyones pleasure.... What I can eat without issues:

Bread (no butter) & Honey
Vege's vege's and vege's (don't like salads...)
Porridge with Raw Sugar (no milk...)
Rice

- That's about it!

Lost 10 kg so far though!!!

This sucks!
