The week that's been....

So.... what can I say about the pain of Gallstone removal... IT SUCKS!

It has made me rethink pregnancy and labour cause seriously... contractions would have to be worse and I couldn't handle what I was experiencing...

Back to the beginning hey?

Went in on Tuesday morning at 11. Checked in and everything... went to my nice little private room (I am loving private after all of this!!!) Had a Nurse do my preop... asked me heaps of questions.. weighed me.... checked my obs and all of that... then gave me some special soap, a blue gown and some paper panties and told me to have a shower.... (Paper panties???)

Spoke with that Anaesthetic Lady (She was nice and gave me good drugs later!!) and my Surgeon came to congratulate me on finally getting here!! I got to put a fashionalble blue wig on my head and they wheeled me through...

The drip went in without any problems... I was worried about that after last time! The first drugs stung a fair bit but didn't have as much of an effect as when I had my teeth done.. I had stuff attached to me here there and everywhere... and then was taken into the freezing theatre room!!! (I remember asking was it always this cold in here!) Some deep breaths and I was awake, in pain, nausious and vomiting... Woohoo.. What a ride! I was in recovery for quite a while and was being difficult apparently... not wanting to breath without oxygen and then vomiting to boot... I made them work too hard!! I got taken back to the ward and had four worried faces looking at me! I'm pretty vaige about the rest of it except when Stu took Mum and the boys home and came back... The Anaesthetic Lady (can't spell the other word) came in to see how I was doing and let them give me 100ml of Panadiene Forte straight through my IV... Talk about off with the fairies! It lasted til about 3.30am... I woke up... so watched some Charmed.. then got all painy.... It was sooo intense... They think that my drain (Yes.. I had a drain) was hitting on a nerve or something... I was not screaming but was moaning quite loudly... It felt like a warm knife was stabbing me from the inside out... they told me to keep breathing slowly.. deep breaths... I wanted to tell them to bugger off! They made me tell them my name and dob before they jabbed me in the belly with Morphine.... Don't know what all the hype is over that drug.. took too long to work for my liking - and I only ended up with 2 hours sleep from it.

Wednesday morning I got woken up... pulled out of bed and made to have a shower... but not before having antibiotics and stuff shoved through my IV (someone forgot to remove the air bubble....) Stu was there and I had tears from the pain... I managed to eat 2 spoonfulls of porridge and a bite of toast and that was it! I was supposed to be going home after lunch... but.... nope... i hadn't had enough fluid drain out of my wound.. so you're with us for another night! I was told to get up and go for walks and stuff to help things move.. which were okay once i was up.... it was the getting up that was the problem. Oh... and the anti clot stuff that they kept injecting me with... in the stomach and the legs! It's not fun!

I still hadn't let enough crap out of me on Thursday so they made me stay again... I was allowed to go yesterday though (Friday - Anzac Day) My surgeon drove up from Hamilton to see me to say that I was right to go... How screwed would the traffic have been yesterday!!

Taking the drain out was a pleasant experience... by a STUDENT NURSE!!! She did okay though... the other nurse was just telling her to pull it out but she was trying to be all gentle which was making it worse!

Had to sit on the bed for an hour afterward to avoid internal bleeding and now I am home... and it's over.....

He managed to remove 33 stones from my gallbladder... 3 of which were the size (and look like) Maltesers... Looks like they've been in there for a while!

I am apparently able to eat normally again now but have been warned off toooo fatty foods.. otherwise I have been advised (and already had the pleasure) of my guts turning to gravy and needing a toilet NOW! (All I had was a little milk on my porridge!!)

Speaking of food.. I need to go and get some now to take my antibiotics and pain killers... It's going to be a fun week ahead!

Going to the airport with Stu tomorrow to see his parents off for their 5 week trip overseas...

I have to stop myself from going and getting and putting on washing.. cause I have NO clothes!

There are some pics in my photo album...

Ouch!

So much for the class being easier.. who would have thought that they have a number of routines they go through.... I also managed to hurt my knee (It's been iffy for a while... so i think all the jumping around last night was the last straw...)

Rang and cancelled my PT session for today. He's disappointed apparently!!

Stu's been busy each night painting... We now have our room, the second bedroom and the toilet done... and there are spots and bits on walls every where where he's using up paint!

We need to buy more too which is surprising.. we were hoping that we'd get away with a 15lt drum... Our house isn't that big after all! It's looking wonderful!! The time filling jobs are the windows (them's all flaky and stuff) and the doors (they need filling and sanding before painting)

Got a letter from Telstra last night saying that they have overpaid me and that I have until the 22nd to have the money back to them... WTF... I've not been working there since late November... it's to do with the car - which was sold in December.. that's given them 4 months to let us know... and they only tell us now... stupid people.. We will be writing them a lovely letter telling them to bug off and we'll pay it when we can.. other important things on that date... for which I blame Telstra for. It sucks that the little man can do nothing against big corporations like the big T. Anita's final payment was meant to be in her account this morning.. and guess what... it's not!!! She gave her notice over a month ago.. and payroll apparently don't have notice of her resignation... soooo many expletives come to mind right now!

Getting cranky.. need to leave this alone now!!

Have a good day everyone!

8 days and counting!

8 days until I get to experience that wonderful feeling of woo that you have when the general in pumped into your veins!!! Also 8 and a bit days until I wake up in agony after having my guts cut open and CO2 pumped into my body! 2-3 days after that I might - just might feel like eating again!

Lots to look forward to!

First PT session went well.. took me 2 days to recover though!

Booked in again for 12.30 Wednesday... Glutton for punishment i think they call it.

Doing a Body Jam class on Tuesday night which should be fun (2nd time around I should look so demented!)

Some more painting was done on the weekend... I washed... Stu was very very excited when he opened his undie drawer and they were folded!!! (I don't fold... hell... I usually don't put away either.... Told him it was guilt cause he'll be looking after me next week after the surgery!)

Back to work today.... Poo!

News

Stu and I won't be going anywhere for quite a while. A little disappointing but it means we don't have to hurry with getting the house presentable. We would still like to have the painting done by the end of May at the latest - but we will now also be able to erect a new back patio and look at adding a hot water system to the shed and possibly a toilet in the future... surely will make Anita more comfortable..

I'm going to bed now...

First PT session on Wednesday 12.30... Wish me luck!

Busy Weekend!

Stu and I decided that we'd better get cracking and do some work to the house - especially if we are going to be moving in the nearish future.. We are aiming to do one room a weekend so we'll have everything done by mid may. Still have to do the patio at some point though.... (after my surgery most likely)

I started to paint with Stu but then decided that I really don't like painting!!! So... I weeded the garden instead!

All I managed to do was create more work for Stu - made him go to the dump on Sunday!

Bundy enjoyed me being in the yard and then overnight decided he wanted to play with the clippings!!!

Photo's of the transformation here... woo hoo! It's starting to look really nice!

Dinner with Kylie & Oliver

We got to see little Oliver again last night.

Going to miss him (and Kylie) when they return to Melbourne..

Don't worry Michael... we miss you too!!

It's just amazing how fast they grow and change! It's only been 2 weeks since we'd seen him and his head looked as if it had doubled in size!! (well.. not that much.... but bigger!)

We all had lovely cuddles.. Soni & Rod enjoyed their cuddles... Stu and I had a lot of cuddles and smiles from him too.. He's just so precious! I was even lucky enough to see him and mummy do their little bicycle song!!

A few photo's are here

Jemma's Birthday Party

We were at Damian & Jem's place on Saturday night to help her celebrate her forthcoming birthday (1st April - poor soul!)

The theme... was Masquerade!!!

I was all smart and stuff and put a hole in Stu's with a straw so he could drink without taking his mask off... trouble was.. his face was sweating!

I think I could have done a better job of my mask... but considering we spent all day saturday, in bed watching charmed.... it was pretty damn good!

It's April Already!!!

This year is just flying by... It's the 3rd April already!!!

19 days until my surgery..... not so much worried about them cutting me open as the money we have to pay the hospital, the anaesthic person, time off work... ya know!

Stu and I are going to be doing work in and around the house this weekend... YAY!! Painting.

We want the house to be ready just incase anything happens with this Melbourne adventure that keeps getting pushed toward us!! (Yes.. you know who you are!)

I went to the gym for the first time in a LOOOOONGG time today (think October last year!)
I could only manage 30 mins. My enthusiasm... of going in my lunch break has spurred my dear Jasmine to want to come along with me... so she's looking to join.. She's already made me promise to attend three classes a week... a Cycle Class (I see vomit) BodyJam and BodyCombat.... I'm a little concerned.. as I don't have lots of co-ordination like that! Think how svelt I'll be looking in a few months time!

Then we'll get preggers and I'll get fat again. At least there will be an excuse for it when it happens!
